Aleryon Releases Core Animation Facebook Client Universal iOS AppQubical Now Available in the iTunes App Store for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPadBOSTON, MA − September 1, 2010 − Aleryon today announced the availability of a new Facebook client for iOS devices, Qubical, that utilizes the iPhone SDK Core Animation framework to present Facebook friend and photo album pictures in a unique new user interface. Qubical uses Core Animation to present the profile pictures of the user’s friends as tiles on an interactive 3D cube. A user double-taps a picture on the cube to see a friend’s Wall, mutual friends, and photo albums. Photos from the user’s photo albums and those of their friends are placed on similar interactive 3D photo cubes. “We really think users will appreciate the visual, spatially-oriented way in which they can keep track of their Facebook friends’ activity using the new interface,” said Joseph Howard, founder of Aleryon. “There are a number of mobile social networking apps out there,” said Howard, “but we wanted to utilize the advanced graphical capabilities of iOS devices to create a new kind of user experience.” “We plan on making consistent maintenance updates to Qubical, and adding new features over time,” said Howard. “In version 1.0, the concentration was fundamental Facebook functionality like posting and comments. We are currently integrating other feature options available to third-party Facebook apps, for implementation in version 1.1 and beyond.” Qubical is now available for $1.99 in the U.S. and is priced accordingly in other regions. Qubical is available world-wide in the iTunes App Store.
